So far, pulmonary embolism cause hemoptysis that much be found at internal medicine patient room or surgery patient room. This condition especially seen in geriatric patients that always lying on their bed because of heart failure or during operation time.

Outside of hospital, pulmonary embolism can be found on patient who just go out from the hospital after got surgery, at pregnant women, or women use contraception pill.

First clinical manifestation on pulmonary embolism show sudden pleuritic pain that can or without dyspnea. Pleural rub can be heard in early stage of disease or newly arise later. Cough with sputum consist of little blood or present whole blood happened after one or two days later.

These situation sometimes this confused with pneumonia where the doctor do not pay attention on patient sputum or do not ask specifically about the hemoptoe.

Pulmonary embolism can be started or accompanied with thrombophlebitis and lower extremity of patient must be examined. Pulmonary embolism is emergency condition case, so that only immediately action with give heparin intravenously, that is better with continue infusion can prevent possibility fatal secondary embolism. 

In acute pulmonary embolism show the mortality include into 2 categories:

1. Massive pulmonary embolism (this is about 4-4,5% case), show  systolic arterial pressure < 90 mm Hg.
2. Nonmassive pulmonary embolism, is the more common happen (95,5-96% case) show systolic arterial pressure ≥ 90 mm Hg. (doc b3ty)
